Olympic Ice-hockey final, will USA or Canada take the gold in Vancouver tonight?

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Vancouver Olympic logoBattle of the battle, oh yes. I hoped for this dream final and now we will get a great ending of this tournament with the two outstanding teams fighting it out. USA have impressed me a lot so far and if they can stop Canada scoring during their expected, initial blitz in the first period, they can win this. But at the end I bet on Canada to win. They have home soil and their attacking power will be decisive at the end.

My betting tips: Canada win, Over 5.5 goals

Who do you think will win, USA or Canada? Take the facebook poll here and check out the results before you place your bet. pays back all bets on Swedish ice hockey gold after loss to Slovakia

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Vancouver Olympic has decided to pay back all stakes on Sweden as gold winners in the men’s Olympic ice hockey tournament. We took the decision after reigning champions Sweden lost in the quarter-finals against Slovakia, we felt that the Swedes had so high hopes on Peter Forsberg and his team mates, and we wanted to cheer them up at least a bit.

Sweden was favorites against Slovakia but lost 3-4 on Thursday morning, and while the Slovakian’s cheered the ice hockey fanatic Swede’s mourned. Sweden where third hand favorite in the tournament at 7.00 times the money and had backing to win and to reach at least semi-final. Now we will pay back all stakes on Sweden as gold winners in the tournament, and hopefully ease some pain among the Swedes.

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Scottys Boot camp Expekt.comWith the Scotty European Tour, Scotty’s Boot Camp and Scotty in the LA Poker Classics, it’s almost getting hard to keep track of the Prince. After busting early in the #39 H.O.R.S.E event in LA Poker Classics last week Scotty is giving it another shot at the $5,000 tournament starting today and I know you will all cross your fingers for him. He will need a bit of encouragement with the upcoming busy tournament schedule we have set up for him.

Luckily Scotty enjoys his travelling because he will be doing a lot of them in the near future. Starting off in Prague followed by Warsaw and then Latvia in late March where he will amuse the Norwegian players during the Norwegian Championship 2010 before he continues his tour. But by far the most exciting event surrounding the star this year is the Scotty Boot Camp held in May.

The players qualifying for Scotty’s Boot Camp will get the opportunity to be taught poker by the professionals, BBQ in Scotty’s house, spend nights out on the strip in the city that never sleeps just to round it all off with a $1,000 WSOP event. Value? $10,000! The packages are up for grabs, so sign up for Scotty’s Boot Camp here  and you will automatically earn points. At the moment we have a leader; “Finmacul” has already raced his way to the top of the global leaderboard, but there are plenty of chances left for you to qualify!

Olympic ice-hockey betting tips from Niklas “Mr. Hockey” Wikegård

Official Winter Olympic games logo Vancouver 2010There is eight teams left in the tournament and I expect four thrilling quarter-finals with Canada-Russia as the big one during the next hours. While I am at it I have taken out my own All Star team so far in the tournament: Goalkeepers: Ryan Miller, USA/Henrik Lundqvist, Sweden: I can not pick just one. Lundqvist has a clean sheet so far, and Miller has been brilliant. Defenders: Brian Rafalski, USA, Niclas Lidstöm, Sweden: two great defenders with allround capacity. Forwards: Jarome Iginla, Canada: five goals so far and really hot. Nicklas Bäckström, Sweden: great hands and clever in every move. Mats Zuccarello-Aasen, Norway: yes, I think he has been just amazing to watch in his team. Coach: Ralph Kruger, Switzerland: without doubt the coach that has maximized his team most – and Switzerland has been the most entertaining side to watch in the tournament.

Here are my tips in the quarter-finals:

USA – Switzerland

Tips: 1 Odds: 1.15 / Tips: Under 5.5 goals Odds: 1.72

Switzerland is the most entertaining side to watch in the tournament so far and I am very impressed by the coaching from Ralph Krueger. USA beat the Swiss 3-1 in the group phase and I expect something similar in this match. USA has some great match-winners in Kessler, Malone and Parize and that will be decisive together with Miller in goal.

Russia – Canada Tips: X Odds: 4.25

This will be a proper thriller, and I am not so convinced about the status of Canada so far. Their collective team work is not on top; it is like building a house without a proper foundation. Their box-play is so and so, and Nidermayer and Pronger do not look good at all in defense. Also, the San José line with Joe Thornton is not producing as expected. I foresee a draw at full-time and a Canada wins after penalties. The backing of the home crowd will lead Canada to the semi-final, but it will be extremely tight.

Finland – Czech Republic Tips: 2 Odds: 2.40

Finland has high hopes to reach the semis, but I think that the Czechs will win this match. I have a feeling that Finland’s older players will not have the edge against the shrewd players from Czech Republic where both Jagr and Elias looks really solid. And I don’t buy that Finland let Sweden win in their last group phase match. Finland simply weren’t up for it and I think that they would have preferred Slovakia instead of Czech Republic if they could choose.

Sweden – Slovakia Tips: 1 Odds: 1.70 / Tips: Under 5.5 goals Odds: 1.69

Slovakia has an interesting side with some forwards of the highest class, but I can not see them beat Sweden. I think that the Swedish machine, disciplined and organized, will overcome the artistic flair that we see in Slovakia. Under 5.5 goals is probably the best bet of them all in the quarter-finals.

Hitman, just another 5-reel game with 15 paylines? I don’t think so… This game really takes the slot machine games to a different level with its outstanding graphics and amazing videos. By playing Hitman you will have the possibility to win three types of bonuses: The Contract Bonus, Insignia Bonus and the Free Spins Bonus.

The Contract Bonus will be triggered If the contract symbol appears on reel 3, 4 and 5 and the Insignia Bonus will appear if the Insignia symbol appears on reel 1, 2 and three. The Free Spins Bonus will be activated if the Free Spins symbol “18” lands 3, 4 or 5 times on your screen and during the Free Spins winnings will be multiplied by 2X.
