The ATP 1000 Madrid Masters just ended and Novak Djokovic claimed his sixed consecutive win this season, when he defeated Nadal in the final yesterday. His way to the final wasn’t as easy as usual though. In the semi-final he was up against the young Brazilian Tomaz Bellucci who showed his best tennis and won the first set. But Djokovic had no intention to let the opponent get away with the win, he came back and got through to the final.
The Serbian has won every match since the beginning of the year starting with the Australian Open in late January. Before Roland Garros starts in the end of the month we have the upcoming ATP 1000 Tournament in Rome to look forward to. If Djokovic continues his winning streak and Nadal gets knocked out before the semi-finals, he will be crowned as the world number 1.
