FC Internazionale and Chelsea clashes the last 16 Champions League round on Wednesday

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

José Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti goes head to head at San Siro when FC Internazionale and Chelsea clashes in their first match in the last 16 Champions League round on Wednesday.

On the pitch we expects a fierce battle with Eto’o and Drogba as key-players up front in their sides. We pay 6.00 in odds on Drogba to score first. Chelsea was knocked out by Manchester United in the last 16 round last season and holds Chelsea as favorite to go through and put more European misery in the Internazionale corridors.

Over two matches, and having the advantage to play at home in the second match, it looks like Ancelotti will have the last word over his rival Mourinho.

I put my small stake on Egypt’s Mohammed Zidan at a massive 29 times the money

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Not to long ago, the African Cup of Nations was the tournament that few cared about outside Africa, but in recent years the picture has changed dramatically. Back in 1957, when the first tournament was played, only three teams took part, Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia. Since 1998, the cup has consisted of 16 teams who qualifies for the tournament every second year. And during these years we have seen an African revolution with the matches being broadcasted by Eurosport and stars like Drogba, Kanouté and Eto´o taking a dominating role in the biggest leagues in Europe.

Today you could put up an African All Star team that would rock any boat on the planet. Not to mention Ivory Coast in itself; an outsider in this summer’s World Cup. At this moment, our own Roger Milla sits back in Cameroon and prepares his first tips in this year’s tournament.

He was the first international football star from Africa. We have seen more of his caliber the last decade, and more is to come. I have looked at our top scorer odds and could see some nice value here and there. Someone will steal the show and become king of the African Cup of Nations. But the top scorer might be found somewhere else. Take a good look at the draw. If you feel that a player could nick a few goals early in the tournament it could pave the way for him to become top scorer. Like David Villa in Euro 2008, after his three goals for Spain in the first match against Russia.

Here are our odds – who do you pick? I think I put my small stake on Egypt’s Mohammed Zidan at a massive 29 times the money. A decent goal scorer in a team that has something to prove after missing out on the World Cup, and there are chances to score some goals against Benin and Mozambique. Mido is left out of the squad and Zaki is injured, so Zidan will get space. Zidan scored two goals against Brazil in the Confederations Cup last summer so why not? Bring it on. Milla is on the way.
